CAUSE
E-coli is a disease that can be treated. However, there are some affective cases of E-coli and non affective issues of E-coli. The type of E-coli you may have depends on the type of medication or treatment you get. E-coli is mostly treated with medication because E-coli is affected by eating or drinking something contaminated. However, if you have a serious case of E-coli the doctors may have you go to the hospital to drain out the infections[germs] in your body.

SPREAD
E-coli from the stool of infected people and also drinking contaminated water from sewage waste. This is now the great concern of the flood in New Orleans. E-coli can spread by person to person by personal hygiene. Another source of E-coli is contaminated food provided by the person that is infected.

PREVENTION
E-coli can be prevented by testing the stool of a person's bacterium. Almost 1/3 of laboratories don't take stool test. If you think that you have E-coli you should suggest to the doctor to take a stool test. Everyone that have blood in their diarrhea they should probably get there stool tested for E-coli.

TREATMENT
Most of the time doctors will just give you a medicine that will cause you body to react in such a way that your brain warns your body of the danger, and drains out all the fluids and extra food back out. To treat E-coli doctors can't just give you a medication. They have to replace fluids and electrolytes to prevent dehydration. Doctors will treat infected E-coli by sending you to get help from a physician. Some people with harsh E-coli can only be treated by the hospital.
