Collaboration as the most important thing to complete this site. We started with very different opinions and wanted our site to represent our opinions. Therefore we all had to compromise in order to have everyone's opinion heard.
Collaboration for this site was completed by messaging and posting each other on www.think.com. This was important to our site because we had to help each other when someone didn't understand or couldn't find what they were looking for, because our work was done after school or at our own houses. This also allowed us to reach our coaches when we needed them. Without contact with each other we would end up wasting lots of time redoing work at school and would have not been able to finish the site.
One important way we collaborated was by including everyone's ideas in the project. We held group meetings and many brainstorms. In addition, our team members had different skills. For example, Jaleycia was brand new and younger than us. Therefore, she did not know as much technology or as much about Thinkquest. we wanted to make sure that she was comfortable and enjoys the project. So, Gina helped her learn the software and guided her through the research until she understood it. Or Nihir, who is great with Fireworks, taught Walker how to do it so that Walker can express his ideas.
In this project we were very supportive of each other. If someone did not meet deadline, we immediately offered help. We communicated with each other often. Gina kept lists of things to do and tracked our progress and shared it with our coaches. This kept us on track. This was a great experience because we got to do a project on something interesting and present our knowledge the way we wanted to. It was neat that we could overcome our differences in opinions to create a site that everyone agrees with.
