Scientists have been studying the climate on Earth for many years. They have found causes of global climate change. These are some scientific explanations on natural climate change:
Astronomical explanations:
• Every 41,000 years, Earth’s tilt increases or decreases by one and a half degrees. This may not seem like much but it has a huge effect on our climate. When this happens, the amount of sun rays in a specific area will increase. Therefore, there will be a higher temperature.
• Every 100,000 years, Earth’s elliptical orbit starts to vary. This causes Earth to warm when it comes closer to the sun and cool as it moves away from the sun
Atmospheric explanations:
• Clouds and volcanic dust reflect the sun’s rays onto the earth. This means that when a volcano erupts the gasses will go into the atmosphere.
• Because of gases in the atmosphere such as water vapor and carbon dioxide, the Earth does not lose heat. Therefore, it will get hotter.
