The countries involved are: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, (the G-6, 1975), Canada (the G-7, 1976), and Russia (not participating in all events), as well as the European Union.

What is the g8 summit?

The Group of Eight (G-8) is the grouping of eight of the world's leading industrialized nations. The hallmark of the G-8 is an annual economic and political summit (G-8 Summit) of the heads of government with international officials, though there are numerous subsidiary meetings and policy research

The G8 are a committed group of counties tackerling world issues. They have agreed to put in place targets for a green world. Each country set themselves target to reduce greenhouse gasses, such as C02 form car emissions. Each country have a different set of targets as each county is unique, in population, location, tourism and climate.
