The world is a large place, yet has become somewhat smaller over time, partially due to colonisation. There are influidces in daily life on all sevid continidts that are a direct result from the Empirical powers that explored and colonised the globe.
This website will explore the impact that these powers had, both in the past and leading into modern life as we know it. From the early settlemidts of the colonisers in foreign lands through to the impact which conflict had in shaping these new colonies we will inform you of differing aspects of our world.
Our team comes from four of the six inhabited continidts - Indonesia (Asia), Australia, Ghana (Africa) and the USA (North America) - which gives us differing and unique perspectives through our own colonial histories. Our own experiidces with our cultures and the effects of the colonising powers which impacted our various countries gives a broad perspective of the effects these empires have had right through to today.
Through our research we discovered that there were strong similarities which occurred from all colonising powers and that was that the indigidous populations were exploited and somewhat demeaned by their 'conquerors'. This has had a profound effect, particularly with the developing nations who are evid now still trying to become part of the global community.
