About Us

Welcome to our website introducing what makes an effective advertisement. We, Daniel, Shaowei, Charles and Yining are a group of students who reside in Singapore and are working on a project to seek the methods to create an effect advertisement that can generate sales successfully.

Our website records everything that we have learnt in our journey to getting to know the complex plane of advertising, something that is so embedded in our culture that we hardly take additional notice of its presence, and specifically what makes an effective advertisement. We have studied the different elements, applications and the history of advertisements, taking into account how studying these aspects of advertisements can bring our understanding of advertising to a higher level in order to examine it now and especially predict an effective advertisement that can be used in the future.

One aspect of advertisements that contribute greatly to the effectiveness is how the elements are used and matched against the purposes of the advertisement. We have dissected advertisements and broken them down into these different elements - space, text, pictures, colour, sound, movement and entertainment value. These are the factors that influence the effectiveness of an advertisement.
