Light Transmission

YABAYABAYABA... communications are VERY important for modern society today. During my grandbot's time, there were no N-73 nokia phones, no Internet, no world wide web no nothing. The greatly improved communication network resulted in the world seem smaller (like me) and more intimate.
Almost all modern communications now, involve the transfer of messages using different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. There are long wavelength radio stations, shorter wavelength microwave towers, and very short wavelength optical communications.
Optical fibers have been one of the greatest technological successes like *koff* me, in the recent decades. This is because fiber optics allows high-speed, efficient, high-density, high reliability passage of enormous densities of signals.

Nanotechnology have been able to produce effective fiber optic structures. Fiber optics is a fairly complicated structure, with different materials in the inner and outer shells. To prevent wavelengths from scattering or getting destroyed, the inner shell has been doped with nanostructure to recover the diminishing signals. The signals may be polarized with nanostructures for better multiplexing. Because light can be scattered by relatively small particles, synthetics methodologies for reducing impurities in fiber optics are a major industrial ambition. Nanotechnology is addressing all these problems.
