Since there are more people on the planet there is a greater demand for food. To supply the demand people are clearing more and more forests for farmland. Since trees intake carbon dioxide (the main contributor to global warming) in photosynthesis, the amount of carbon dioxide increases because there are not enough trees. The increased carbon dioxide traps more heat causing the earth to heat up faster.
