Process of Creation of Site

The first thing that a person who visits a site sees is the design, the layout and the presentation; or the lack of it. We have tried to create a very ergonomic design, with soft colors, smooth edges and a striking layout which is very easy on the eyes. The entire site was created using standard CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) which ensures compatibility with all platforms.

After the layout and the design of the site was decided, we had to reach a consensus on what features we should include and how much animation we could use, due to the strict size limit. Features are an important part of any site. Thus, to have the best and most useful features, we searched the Internet extensively for features which made the experience of surfing enjoyable and user friendly while keeping the functionality intact.

The cornerstone of every site is its content. A site may look beautiful, it may have jaw dropping features, but what sustains it is high-quality content. We had night-long brainstorming sessions to decide every small detail that was to go in the writing of each article. We wanted to do full justice to our faith in Open Source, and we think that we did.

Finally, we compiled and integrated all the features and content on the 15th of April. We did the final editing and translation on the night of 15th. On the 16th, we searched for bugs and incorporated last minute changes. Finally, we uploaded the site at <TIME> Indian Standard Time.

Now, we wait for our message and our hard work to reach the masses. In the meanwhile, we sleep. Working for 2 days on a stretch is certainly tiring.

About Our Team & Thinkquest Website

Aim of The Site

Our site aims at providing a platform to explore and exploit the use and implementation of Open Source Technologies. Our team sincerely believes that Open Source is the ‘next big thing’. The general perception among people about Open Source is that it is just a concept, a concept which cannot be implemented outside of the programming world. Some associate the whole revolution to the Linux OS. In our site, we have shown the tremendous potential this concept has to change, period.
