Introduction to Features

The quality of a site is decided by the experience a user has while going through it. To ensure that you have a pleasant one, we have incorporated a lot of features in the creation of the site.

LAYOUT

The layout has been designed to maximize the usability of space effectively. The navigation system is on the left. The clear and concise section headings on the tabs provide the user an instant insight of what to expect when they click on the respective tab. The menus are drop-down type. We have not included rollover menus because they get cumbersome in a vertical arrangement.
Towards the right hand side we have the features menu which can be hidden according to the user’s preferences. The center of the page includes the main text of the page that the user is currently on.
At the bottom are the auxiliary features that a user may require.

DESIGN

We have created an ergonomic design, nothing too bold, which is easy on the eyes. The use of soft colors adds tremendously to the site’s overall appeal. Rounded corners have been used. The colors for the menus are chosen such that they have a contrast to the background and yet do not seem out of place.

The general perception among people about Open Source is that it is just a concept, a concept which cannot be implemented outside of the programming world. Some associate the whole revolution to the Linux OS. In our site, we have shown the tremendous potential this concept has to change, period.

The first thing that a person who visits a site sees is the design, the layout and the presentation; or the lack of it. We have tried to create a very ergonomic design, with soft colors, smooth edges and a striking layout which is very easy on the eyes. The entire site was created using standard CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) which ensures compatibility with all platforms.
