Clay is soft and sticky and has even smaller grains. It’s almost like a powder. Clay can be different colors like red, orange, yellow, white, tan, blue, black, or gray. When clay is dry, it gets very hard. People make bricks and pottery out of clay.

When clay is wet, it is very smooth and slick. Cars have to be careful when driving on clay roads.
