Introduction

We hear all about road accidents, and how the number of victims is increasing day after day. We consider it as a crime, but we don't think for a moment that we are the real criminals. For example, you wake up late and you are in a hurry to arrive your work, over speed will be your friend and you will neglect other's life. The gratifying of your boss is above every thing. You may forget for a while that you may lose your closed friend, your parents, your spouse or your son by the same situation. Other views of aggressive driving are frequented every day such as exceeding the posted speed limit, following too closely, erratic or unsafe lane changes, improperly signaling lane changes, failure to obey traffic control devices such as traffic light. These views reflect the largest public health problem we have ever had. The problem is all the more acute because the victims are overwhelmingly young and healthy prior to their crashes. You may ask your self, what do I gain from this speech?? And what can I do? My answer is that your, and other's life is at your hands. With your strong desire to change and with our support we can build a safe society.

Driving in the Emirates has become like a sophisticated and expensive game of dodge-'ems, as if in a fun fair, but it is no fun and often exceedingly frightening and dangerous. Statistics show fatal crashes on the rise throughout Dubai. The monthly average figure increased from 17 deaths a month last year to 19 deaths a month this year. The "Your decision" campaign started months ago by a request of H.H Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashed The UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to decrease the number of the deaths and injuries. This proactive action was taken by the police, for less leniency, more police patrols on the road and stiffer penalties. The UAE authorities cannot afford to continue ignoring what is a daily increasing problem.

Avery special thank to Assistant Solicitor police Mr. Rashed  who was very helpful in providing us with the real information, photos, ideas, and advices.
