Garrison-Jones Elementary is located in Dunedin, Florida. Dunedin is on the west coast of Florida and is located at 28.019 N. latitude and 82.771 W. longitude.
Garrison-Jones Elementary sits on the land of two early Pinellas county settlers, Richard Garrison and Russell Jones. Garrison was given the land as a grant in 1852 for fighting in the Florida Indian Wars. He was given 160 acres on Curlew creek near Spanish Trails. Jones bought 21 acres of land on this site later on. Years later, Garrison's descendants operated orange groves and raised cattle on the land. |
