Nikola Tesla

In the year 1898 Nikola Tesla presented a remoteoperated boat at the exhibition in the Madison SquareGarden. Tesla’s achievement in the late 20th century was amile stone in the history of robotics. Though first thought tobe a way to remotely deliver torpedoes to their targets inthe water, Tesla’s invention of radio remote operation demonstrated the possibility of huge advancements in the field of robotics.

20th Century Advancement

By the year 1948 the world’s first autonomous robot was created by W. Grey Walter at the Bristol University, England. Walter’s adaptation of the known robotic technology gave birth yet again to another form of exciting robot. If a robot is autonomous, it is defined as being able to move and perform task without human operation. In the 20th century this was especially significant because then robots were able to start taking over remedial tasks in the work force. Robots were eventually integrated into the work force taking positions such as assembly lines, packaging lines, and other such tasks that can be repeatedly preformed over and over.
