F17 NightHawk

The Nighthawk is a stealth aircraft designed to attack high security areas with less risk of being detected. During Operation Desert Storm, the Nighthawks were the only aircraft allowed to fly in the city limits. Although more than 3000 antiaircraft guns and 60 surface-to-air missiles protected the city, the aircraft still flew their missions with great success. The F117A is made “invisible” by a special paint that is on it that can absorb radar making almost impossible to detect. This plane is planned to be phased out by the year 2018.
