The M16-M4 carbine is the weapon that came into play when the united states became unsatisfied with the M14, The M16 has the same distance with better accuracy then the M14 does. It’s also lighter and more compact. The M16 is equipped to shoot a 5.56mm round and can fire 40mm grenades when equipped. The M16 5.56mm Carbine is a lightweight, gas operated, air cooled, magazine fed, selective rate, shoulder fired weapon with a collapsible stock. This weapon is one of the main ones used by the U.S military today. soldiers in the marines, army, and special forces are using this weapon of choice. Being able to shoot a 5.56mm round and launch 40mm grenades is a nice advantage to have. One disadvantage to this weapon is that since it is not that expensive costing $586. This gun is being used in terrorist threats around the world. Terrorist organizations and other criminals have found it easy to purchase this weapon and now are using it in ways it was not intended for.
