In the United Kingdom, this procedure is only tested in the Life Support 3 exam, as Assessment 2.
If another rescuer arrives who can take over CPR, you should take it in turns to perform full CPR. You should alternate approximately every 2 minutes. In addition, the other rescuer could contact the ambulance so that you start CPR immediately.
- Perform 30 chest compressions, counting out loud.
- Perform 2 breaths.
- Perform an efficient changeover to another operator.
- The other operator must use a pocket mask.
If practicing this sequence without a pocket mask, or with a healthy body, you should breath over the top of the person instead.
