Here are some poems submitted by children for our project.
These poems have not been edited and included in the form we received them.
Poems from USA (from children 12 and under)
Asian Elephant
The ground rumbles below my toes
Cars speed by and nobody knows
The Asian elephant is not doing well.
It has become endangered and needs your help to stay well.
Just take a second and give it some care,
But most of all it's important to just be aware.

- Poem by Devon F. USA

Steller Sea Lion
The water ripples and echoes in the sea.
Boats speed by but nobody notices me.
I'm raising my young, I'm really trying.
But nobody is aware of the endangered Steller sea lion.
Trash floats by and scrapes my fins
Like trash wrappers and old pieces of tin.
There is no way these problems will ever end
If people don't give a hand to lend.

- Poem by Devon F. USA

The Numbat
It walks through the bush eating berries and leaves
Then he's up in the air, he didn't know the trap was there
