Gods and Goddeses

      Poseidon was the brother of Zeus and Hades. These three gods were divided up creation. Zeus was the god of the sky. Hades was the god of the dead. Hades isn’t included in this picture because he is dwelt in the underworld and not on Olympus.
      Dionysus was the god of wine. Dionysus was the son of Zeus and the mortal heroine. Hephaestus was the god of fire and crafts or the two together. He accomplished a lot of things of craftsmanship. Such as beautiful palaces that he built for the gods on top of Mount Olympus.
      Ares was the god of war. In his appearance, he was handsome, but cruel. His throne on mount Olympus was said to be covered in human skin. Artemis was the virgin goddess of the hunt. Artemis and her brother Apollo were the children of Zeus and leto.
      Demeter was the goddess of agriculture. Demeter was the sister of Zeus and she was also the mother of Persephone. HERA the goddess of marriage . Hera was also the wife of Zeus and queen of the Olympians. Hera hated Hercules since he was the son of her husband Zeus.
      Hermes was the messenger of the gods and guide the dead souls to the underworld. A was a prankster ,but was a genius from birth.

      THERE ARE 12 OLYMPIAN GODS. THE OLYPIAN GODS WERE THE PEOPLE WHO LIVED ON MOUNT. OLYMUS.
THE 1ST OF THE 12 IS ZEUS WHO WAS KING OF THE GODS. ZEUS WAS THE MOST POWERFUL GOD ON OLYMPUS. HE WAS IN CHARGE OF THE SUN, THE MOON, HE CHANGES THE SEASONS, HE WAS THE SON OF CHRONUS AND RHEA.WHEN HE GOT MAD HE THREW THUNDERBOLTS.
            Athena was the goddess of crafts, domestic arts and in some cases war. Later on she became the goddess of wisdom. At one time Zeus was married to the daughter of ocean, metis. When metis was pregnant someone told Zeus that his child would be more powerful then him. When Zeus heard this he swallowed metis. Swallowing metis gave him a huge headache but from his head emerged Athena. Athena helped many people on quests. Like Perseus on his quest for medusas head.
      Artemis was goddess of the hunt she brought sudden death with her arrows. She also helped women in childbirth.
