Now enough of the roller coaster rides, let’s talk about Pendulum-Type Rides. Don’t know what a pendulum is, well ever looked inside a grandfather clock and you see an arm going back and forth all of the time, that pendulum is what tell us what time it is. For the Pendulum-Type Ride it starts off on the ground and to get it going there are wheels beneath the boat like ride that slowing get it started.

After a while it starts to get higher and faster, but how does it get higher and faster if kinetic and potential energy is being lost, well that is where the wheels come in place. When the boat gets high enough the wheels start to spin faster to the pendulum going, another thing is that once the boat is not touching the wheels stop and spin the opposite direction to make sure that it gets the speed it needs to go even higher.
