Pons

The pons is located directly above the medulla oblongata and in front of the cerebellum. The pons connects parts of the brain with one another. These connections are made up of axons that cross latitudinal and longitudinal. The axons that go up and down are the ones that connect the motor and sensory tracts from the spinal cord to the brain, and the axons that go across connect either side of the brain to each other.
