CerebrumThe cerebrum sits atop of the diencephalon and brainstem; it also is the overall biggest part of the brain. The gray matter layer of the cerebrum is the cerebral cortex. This outer layer of the cerebrum is about two to four millimeters thick. It contains billions of neurons. Below the gray matter of the cerebrum lies the cerebral white matter layer. |
