Stromboli is a stratovolcano located in Italy on the Aeolian Islands. This island is 40,000 years old and the volcano's coordinates is 38.8N, 15.2E.The name "stromboli" came from the Greeks which they call "strongyle" the round because the island looks like a cone. The population there is 400-750 and it is 924 meters above sea level. From the ocean floor, it rises 2,000 meters. The largest eruption was in 1930, but there aren't anymore big eruptions because parts of the lava is catapulted out several times. In 1919, four people were killed and twelve homes were destroyed blocks of lava. Stromboli is one of the most active volcanoes in Europe. The date of the last eruption was February 27, 2007.
