This article briefly talks about the recent achievements of the Singapore team in the South Pacific Games for the Disabled (FESPIC) and more importantly highlights the point that "winning a Paralympic Games medal is just as important as an Olympic medal". As proven by what Mr Teo Ser Luck mentioned, the need to duly and supportively recognise disabled / wheelchair ridden athletes is ever so important since disabled people / wheelchair users are also entitled to equal rights as all able-bodied people.

With the initiatives of the relevant authorities in place, such as financial support and allowing the disabled athletes to wholly develop their talents and careers in sports, the disabled / wheelchair ridden athletes are hence given more opportunities and motivation to strive on harder in life.
