The
United States Navy is a branch of the military. The Navy is a part of
our country’s military force that serves on, under, and over the sea.
The U.S. Navy was established in April 30, 1798 by the Act of Congress.
The United States Navy Consists of approximately 300 ships and over
4,000 aircraft. Half million men and women participate in the Navy
today. Teamwork is most important in the Navy as your safety depends on
your shipmates.
There are 8 weeks in the Navy Boot Camp. Each week they learn something new that they have to use when they are in the U.S. Navy. They must be physically fit and must know everything about surviving on the ships in order to become a sailor. By the end of the 8th week of training is when they graduate. These men and women who trained hard are given a United States Navy uniform and are ready to serve their country. |
