The Army is a branch of the military. It is the oldest and the first ever formed branch of the military. The people in the Army work to keep our nation safe. Hundreds of men and women join to the United States Army each and every day to become an American soldier.
When a person first
decides to be a soldier and goes into training camp to become one, he or
she must first talk with a Recruiter to get the job. Next, the now known
soldier will go into Basic Combat Training, (BCT). Then the soldier will go
into Advanced Combat Training, (ACT). In ACT, the men and women learn
about the opportunity they want to take in the army. In every week of the Army, he or she will keep learning more and more about the Army and will get ranked. Some of the ranks are: 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Full Colonel. The highest rank is the Five Star General. As you may or may not know, there are different Armies all around the world: the United States of America, Britain, Germany, Canada, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Australia, Russia, and Sweden. All of these Armies have different customs and rules to follow, remember, and respect. The United States Army also has important equipment they have to use such as: weaponry; aircrafts, air defense artillery; anti-armor weapons; indirect fire systems; nuclear, biological, and chemical defense equipment; tracked vehicles; and wheeled vehicles. All of these objects are important to the Army to do its job to make sure that our citizens are safe each day. |
