Psychodynamic and personal opinions
explain for addiction through emotional shocks through
childhood which has left a person with problems
as an adult, together with other personality attributes
and/or other disorders, and inherited psychological
temperaments. Certain people, due to a variety of
reasons, are inclined to developing an addiction,
such as heroin, gambling and sex. They may never
develop any kind of addiction throughout their lives.
However, when one or more right stressors affect
the person at a crucial time, the person is more
prone to develop an addiction. Even if a person
only drinks alcohol occasionally, he may develop
an addiction to alcohol if he increases consumption
continuously. The same hypothesis remains for Internet
addiction. Given the right combination of time,
person and event, addiction can take place. Neither
the activity nor subject is important. The person
is the most critical to the situation.
