Edwin Booth, brother to John Wilkes Booth, was born in 1833 and died in 1893 and the age of sixty. He was born in Belair, Maryland.   Edwin Booth was also the second son to Junius Brutus Booth.  Throughout his life Booth played in many plays in many different states in the United States, including New York and right here in Columbus, Georgia.  Although he acted in many plays he performed in one particular play at the Springer Opera House, HAMLET in 1879. After his brother killed President Abraham Lincoln in 1865 it didn't take long for Edwin Booth to get back into the theater.  Just several months after his brother killed Lincoln, he performed again at the Springer.  The last play that Edwin Booth performed in at the Springer was HAMLET and legend has it that Edwin Booth is doomed to walk the halls of the Springer Opera House until the Springer performs HAMLET again.
