Born in Bento Ribeiro, on September 22, 1976 Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima is known as the second best soccer player in the world. Like many of his competitors he began playing football in the streets of his neighborhood. Just like Pelé, Ronaldo is a Brazilian footballer, also known as soccer. He plays for Brazil and the Spanish club known as the Read Madrid which accounts for his dual citizenship with Spain . His position for the sport is a striker which is forward.

His wins include the 1994 and the 2002 FIFA World Cups with Brazil . Ronaldo has also won three FIFA World Player of the Year award for 1996,1997, and 2002. Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane are the only two men to have won the award three times.

He married Milene Domingues in April of 1999. The marriage however was a short one of only four years which ended in a divorce. However, before the couple divorced they had a son in 2000 named Ronald. In 2005 he engaged to a Brazilian model. She became pregnant but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage. The relationship only lasted three months after the engagement.

Ronaldo was at first recognized at the age of fourteen to the Brazil youth team by Jarzinho a World Cup winner. Jarzinho also arranged for his own former club, Cruseiro Esporte Clube to sign him when he was old enough for a professional contract. He quickly astounded the club when he scored twelve out of the fourteen goals in the Brazilian National Championship, and he scored all three goals at the Minas Gerais State Championship. For six million dollars, he was transferred to the US , but he later played for FC Barcelona. He played from 1996 to 1997 scoring 34 goals out of his 37 appearences. He transferred to Inter Milan the following year. However during the 1998 Fifa World Cup he received a sever injury to his right knee and was out of the fame for several months. His first comeback was in 2000 but he only played for seven minutes before he injured his knee for a second time.

It took two operations and twenty months of rehabilitation for Ronaldo to return back to the came. During the 2002 Fifa World Cup he scored two goals against Germany and even succeeded in earning the title of the top scorer. Later during the same year he won the World Player of the Year award for the third time. He then transferred to Real Madrid. He later received the La Liga Championship title in the year of 2003.
