Males and females have very different preferences when it comes to music. In a quiz that was taken, 87% of the people who took the quiz responded "rock" when asked for their favourite music genre. The remaining 13% answered "hip-hop".

This can be explained: males tend to lean towards more agressive types of music, unlike females. Rock has a stronger and louder sound to it, which males prefer. Some examples of the bands that were written down are Billy talent, Nine Inch Nails and Linkin Park. All of these bands fall under the genre of rock.

The hip-hop fans are into heavy beats and rhymes. This differs from the softer more melodic music females listen to.

Males are known to be more agressive and easily angered. This fact might also be portrayed in the music they like.
