What does the symbol mean?

The female symbol (used in biology) is actully the astronomical symbol for Venus. The symbol stands for femininity, and in ancient alchemy stood for the metal copper. The circle represented spirit and the cross stood for matter.

Sex

Sex refers to the male and female ways of biology and reproduction.
Sex in humans are determined in four factors:
  • Chromosomes
  • Gonads (Ovaries and/or testicles)
  • Hormone status
  • Primary sex characteristics, sometimes also secondary sex characteristics
    These factor cannot be changed at all.

    Definitions:

  • Gamete - a specialized germ cell that combines with another gamete during conception
  • Chytrid - the structure containing unreleased spores (a part of the Fungi Kingdom)
  • Diatoms - a major group of eukaryotic algae; most common type of phytoplankton
  • Sporophyte - the generation of plant and alga which has a double set of chromosomes.

    What is a female?

    Female is the sex of an organism which produces ova. Females can't reproduce (except pathenogenesis) sexually without access to the gametes of a male.

    There is not any genetic mechanism behind sex differences in any species. Egg cells are produced by chytrids, diatoms, water molds, and land plants.

    Females and males designate not only the egg and sperm producing organisms, but also sporophyte structures that give rise.

    In the human world, a female is a human with female characteristics.

    Sex Changes

    Some species can acutally change sex, including reproductive functions. For example, a clownfish - s school of clowfish are always organized into a hierarchy with a female fish at the top. When the female fish dies, the strongest male changes sex and takes her place.

    In the human world, sex change is a term that is a medical procedure. It usually only refers to gential surgery only.

    Why do people have sex changes?
    There is a term called sexual identity, it refers to our sexual orientation and your gender. Some people are uncomfortable with their sex and feel that if they became their opposite sex , their identity would be more real.
