This is a timeline of the war, in years (I don't think we could do it in days...)
1933: January 30th - Adolph Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany.
1936: October 25th - Italy and Germany form Rome-Berlin axis.
1938: November 9th to 10th - Kristallnacht or Night of Broken Glass (a pogrom against German and Austrian Jews)
1939: May 22nd - The Pact of Steel signed between Germany and Italy.
September 1st - Germany invades Poland, World War II begins.
1940: September 27th - Japan signed Pact of Steel treaty.
1941: November 5th - Secret decision by Japanese government for war with the United States.
December 7th - Japanese launch sneak attack on U.S. military bases at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
December 8th - U.S. declare war on Japan.
1942: January 20th - Wannsee conference.
April 12th - The Doolittle Raid on Japan.
June 4th - Battle of Midway, Japanese forces seize Alaska islands of Attu and Kiska.
August 7th - U.S. Marines invade Japanese-held island of Guadalcanal.
November 8th - Operation Torch the Allied invasion of North Africa.
1943: May 11th - U.S troops invade Attu
July 10th - Operation Husky, the Allied Invasion of Sicily.
July 26th - Mussolini forced to resign as leader of Italy.
August 15th - U.S and Canadian Forces invade Kiska.
August 17th - U.S bombers launch first air raid on Schweinfurt, Germany.
September 3rd - Italy surrenders unconditionally to the Allies.
October 14th - “Black Thursday” the second bombing raid on Schweinfurt, Germany by U.S bombers.
November 20th - U.S Marines invade Japanese-held atolls of Tarawa and Makin.
1944: January 22nd - U.S troops land on Anzio, Italy.
February 15th - Allied forces bomb Monte Cassino, Italy.
June 6th - D-Day, Allied invasion of Normandy in France.
June 15th - U.S invades Saipan.
June 19th - The Battle of the Philippine Sea.
August 24th - Liberation of Paris, France.
October 20th - U.S forces land on Leyte, and island of the Phillipines.
October 25th - Battle of Leyte Gulf
December 16th - Battle of the Bulge.
1945: Febuary 19th - U.S Marines invade Iwo Jima.
March 7th - U.S troops capture Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen, Germany.
March 22nd - Rhine River Crossing.
April 1st - U.S invades Okinawa.
April 30th - Hitler commits suicide.
May 7th - V.E Day, Germany surrenders.
July 17th - Postdam Conference.
August 6th - First atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
August 8th - Soviet Union declares war on Japan.
August 9th - Second atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki.
August 15th - V.J Day, Japan surrenders.
