Like we have already stated, the African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Black Rhinoceros, Leopard, and the Lion make up the Big 5. You may be thinking, “Why not a hippo, giraffe, cheetah, or gorilla?” Their namesake comes from the difficulty of hunting them, but this is for their own individual reasons. With the Lion and Leopard being stealthy and swift, they are hard targets. On the other hand, the African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, and Black Rhinoceros are massive gargantuans that are usually avoided for safety reasons. The Cape Buffalo is the most dangerous of them all. Although they have the honor of being Africa’s toughest animals, they sometimes get caught. As a result, poachers and habitat destruction are causing some of the world’s most fascinating animals to have rapidly decreasing populations as we speak. To with cope these astonishing facts and fatalities, the African government has protection and hunting laws on all of these creatures.
