The Big 5 is a group of animals that are hunted regularly in Africa. They are chosen for the difficulty hunting them. The term was originally coined by big-game hunters but now is used by tourist and wildlife guides today. These animals have such an impact on African culture that they are on the South African currency; one for each rand denomination.
