Survey

Purpose

One of the main goals of our website is to help raise awareness about epidemiology. However, just how many people are uneducated about epidemiology? We decided to conduct a survey and find out how many people didn't know about epidemiology.

Audience

We decided to ask a variety of age groups, but most of the surveys were given to those between 13-18 years old.

Distribution

We decided to ask them one, important question: "Do you know what epidemiology is?", They would answer either yes or no. Our survey was conducted using an electronic form, and sent to various people, and was conducted verbally at our site test. We later combined the numbers from both sources to get our results.

Results

After collecting the results of the survey, represented graphically below, what we discovered was:

After calculating the data, it turns out 97% of the population doesn’t know what epidemiology is, and only 3% know what it is. This shows that the majority of our young generation has absoulutely no idea what epidemiology is. Who then, will grow up to be epidemiologists. The need to educate the world is even apparent with the results of this survey.
