Causes > [ 1 ] > [ 2 ] I Government I Poverty
The definition of Third World has implications that its people live below the poverty line and stress about how they must survive daily, lacking the basic needs to make both ends meet. Unfortunately, children suffer most. The United Nations estimated that about one billion children live in poverty globally. Some lack food, shelter, and clothes while others lack access to education. Poverty in Third World countries are mainly caused by wars that have occurred and resulted in torn nations. The wars may be caused from greed of natural materials such as gold or for other political causes. Since war casts major destruction on nature, it does the same to the people using the land as home. This kind of destruction leaves people living in the region deprived of all their properties, rights and even their lives. The third world is poor because of its loses in natural resources and properties. For example, in Africa, poverty is striking every house because people are at war against each other.
