Asia:
In the late 1400’s, there were already small groups of Asian immigrants who arrived to the US. Among the small groups, there were the Filipinos, Japanese, Koreans. These groups came to the US first but were not well known as some other Asian groups.
The biggest known group of Asian immigrants who came to the US were the Chinese. They were the first major group to immigrate here in the 1850's. During the 1850's, there was a huge gold rush in California. Upon hearing the riches that gold can provide, thousands of Chinese scrambled to get the opportunity of coming to the US.
With the Chinese working, they proved to be successful in all the projects that they were assigned to do. The Chinese faced a lot of discrimination and in the 1860's, the US granted citizenship only to white immigrants. This led to the Chinese exclusion act and other laws that almost forbade other groups of immigrants from coming into the US. After a few years, the US revoked the exclusion act and allowed other immigratns to come into the US again.
Since then, Asian immigrants have been coming to the US without any problems and the Chinese were the first to make their mark in the US history.
