 Malaria is
considered to be one of the World’s Deadliest Diseases (rank
somewhere 7 to 9 places in the world’s deadliest disease).
While most countries are seriously preparing for a pandemic
disease which can be brought by SARS and/or Avian Influenza,
very few are taking efforts in doing something about
Malaria. Although 90% of Malaria cases can be found in
sub-Saharan Africa, it is expected that this may change in
near future due to economic activity or policy that changes
the use of land, climate change brought by El Niño and La
Niña phenomenon, as well as the international travelers.
It sad to say that Malaria is a curable disease and yet it
has claimed more than 1.2 Million lives per year, an average
of about 3,000 lives per day or 1 life in every
30 seconds,
most of which are children.
There would be a lot of website about Malaria but we trying
to present in a best possible way in which “common” people
would easily understood it and create awareness for the
younger generation like us. |
