History
Football originally came from the sport of rugby.
The first recorded game was played in 11-6-1869.
It was played between Princeton and the
Rutgers and these two teams also made the rules for the
game. Later on in 1920 Jim Thorpe was the founder and he was elected the
first president. The NFL (National Football League) is basically a tournament. And since all tournaments have a
championship game, in the NFL was named the Super Bowl. The trophy was
called the Vince Lombardi trophy. This was named after the coach who won
the first ever coach to win the championship with the Green Bay Packers.
