Vocabulary (Power) for Julius Caesar
 Fawn: to flatter in order to receive favors, to “suck up” to someone ex: Some plebeians fawned over Caesar, Brutus, Cassius, and other Senators to get on the “good side” of the powerful government and later get favors

 Incense: to anger, to provoke ex: Romans believed that the Gods had the power to control the events of the lives of mortals, and by incensing the Gods one caused trouble in his own life

 Insurrection: a rebellion, mutiny ex: The senators’ ganging up on and murdering Caesar was an insurrection against Caesar’s power as a ruler

 Chide: to punish, to scold ex: The government in Rome punished plebeians severely for the breaking of their biased laws so as to show the power of the affluent and ambitious Senators.

 Unassailable: not open to attack, not vulnerable, protected ex: Until the very moments before his death, Caesar thought of his position as unassailable, that no one could disrupt his upward path to power
