Nirvana emerged in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic were the first ones to come up with the idea of forming a band. They still kept on looking for different drummers until they finally settled with Chad Channing. Their first album release was called Bleach in 1989. Kurt and Krist then realize that Chad was not the drummer that they were looking for. Kurt and Krist were introduced to Dave Grohl. After Dave Grohl joins the band they began recording Nevermind. “Smells like Teen Spirit” was Nevermind albums greatest hit. It is said that Nirvanas Nevermind made Alternative Rock famous; they were the ones who began a new generation of music. Nirvanas third album In Utero was release in 1993. They also release a live album MTV Unplugged in New York. After the 1994 tour of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain made several threats to commit suicide. On April 8, 1994, Kurt Cobain body was found dead on his garage home. Kurt Cobain death took the world by surprise; it made a huge impact on fans, family, and friends and also on Nirvana.
