Hip hop dance originated in New York.

It was first known as "b-boyin" and

"b-girlin". Something that is now

known to us as breakdancing.

People would have dance competions

outside their homes, breakdancing then,

became very popular.

There are a lot of dance forums that

influenced what was first originated.

These are a couple:

* funk drumming

* african dance (angola)

* tap

*salsa

* bomba / plena

Now a days, hip hop is loved by many.

A lot of teenagers dance to it.

A lot of singers and rappers

feature this kind of dance in their

videos. So even though we may not

realize it, a lot of different styles and

forums ingluenced our beautiful

hip hop today!
