Hip Hop has had many important events that have affected its future in the industry.
1925
Earl tucker performed at the Cotton Club using a dance forum called "snake hips", something that young teenage dancers still do today.
1950
Two major DJs have a competition in Jamaica, Coxsone Dodd's "Down Beat" VS Duke Reid's "The Trojan" This became known as the "Sound Clash"
1962
James Brown records a song called "Live at Apollo" It featured a drummer named Clayton Fillyau. His beat influenced the music industry and still to this day is used and known as the "Break beat"
1965
Cassius Clay won a gold metal in the olumpics and eventually turned professional. But, it was "what he said that was so memorable. " Sonny Liston is great, but he'll fall in eight" this and a couple of other rhymes he said influenced what is now what we call RAP. It rhymed and people saw something further with his quotes.
1968
"Rubber Band" and "Apache" made a up a hip hop dance in NY. They were both from Brooklyn, so the dance was called "Brooklyn Rock" It stuck around for a while, a dance forum that people use now a days.
1979
Grand master Flash formed one of the greatest mc groups in the music industry. It was called "Grand Master Flash and The Furious Five MC's"
First rap hit record called "Rappers Delight" by Sugarhill Gang
First Hip Hop radio show "Mr magic's disco showcase WHBI" in NYC
