Team: Overview
Introduction
Background
F1 in Schools™ was introduced for the first time in our school in the beginning of 2006. The technology teacher, Mr Fourie, with assistance from his colleagues, selected two teams consisting of the best engineers, designers, leaders and researchers to participate at the regional competition. Both teams qualified for the national championships, at Johannesburg, where the TanzaKnights (one of the teams from our school) became the National Champions, and will be going to Australia in March 2007.
As a result of this year’s success, Mr Fourie decided to increase the participation in the F1 in Schools™ challenge, thus creating an opportunity for more students to develop their skills. We were allowed to choose our own teams. Numerous students showed interest and an astonishing six teams were formed consisting of six members each. Our team consists of six students in either Grade 9 or 10 (Ages 15-17)
