About Us

The BioE2 team comprises of Benjamin, Zheng Xiang and Chin Kiat, Year 5 students from Hwa Chong Institution. We were inspired to create a site that explores the ethical aspects of bio-engineering, because it is highly contentious. As well as serve as an almagation of information regarding the aspects of bio-engineering, we hope to consolidate the stands being presented by many people, both for and against bio-engineering. This helps the user make an informed decision as to what risks are acceptable when it comes to bio-engineering.

Although we have presented much information here, ultimately it is up to the user to decide his/her stand when it comes to morally divisive issues such as these. The risks that are acceptable to some may not be acceptable to others. In fact, while some people advoate genetic engineering of plants, these same people oppose cloning. The information here only serves as a middle ground for the end-user to decide whether he/she is a conservative or a liberal when it comes to bio-engineering

Contentious issues aside, it is hoped that this resource will serve as a useful tool to help people, especially students, to educate themselves on the advantages and dangers of bio-engineering. Happy learning!
