What is tennis elbow?

A gradual onset of pain on the outside of the elbow, also called lateral epicondylitis. The pain results from irritation and inflammation at the place where the tendon attaches to the bone at the elbow. This is caused from overuse of the muscles that move your wrist upwards.

What are the symptoms?

Pain on the outside of the elbow with grasping, lifting, and backhand in tennis.

What is the treatment?

Bracing, rest, ice, anti-inflammatory medication, and sometimes steroid injection. Cases that last up to a year, may require surgery.
