| Here in South Africa, we have many beautiful beaches, but some of them are polluted. Here, we outline some of the causes of beach pollution, some types of beach pollution, as well as affected wildlife and beaches. Our beaches are one of our countries biggest tourist attractions, bringing in flocks of tourists from every corner of the earth. They are also the homes of many different species of animals and plants however, humans pollute our beaches and dump sewage and other forms of waste on the beaches, ruining the delicate balance that exist in all ecosystems. These acts pose as a huge drain on the tourism industry and also kill many of the marine animals and plants. But not everyone litters. Some people have organised litter clean-ups on the coast and beaches around South Africa and photos of one of these are under photos if you would like to see them. With these pages, we hope to get the message about littering and pollution on beaches across to you. Please use the bins available to the public.
