.: List of addicting games

What classifies a game as being addicting? Well it is quite hard to describe it but usually it is a game that is able to keep people playing it for hours on end. We have compiled this list of computer games that we have decided are addicting. We have also provided our own opinions of the games and what we thought made them so addicting to play and how hard it was for us, if we played them, to stop playing.
Note: The letters in parentheses in light green next to each name is its' abbreviation. Also, you can click on the name of each game to go to its' official website.

I will like to start off with a game that, in our opinion, is the most addicting game made so far:

World of Warcraft (WoW)
World of Warcraft or WoW seems to us to be the most addicting game of all time. It has ruined many lives and with its new expanision pack it will probably continue to do so for a long time to come. Although this game costs $40+ to buy with an addition $15 per month many people will pay for it and will do anything to keep up their subscription. Many buy fake ingame money through online auction sites or ingame through insecure transfers that could result in people being scammed out of their money. This game is so well known and popular that a South Park episode was even made about it and about how addicting it can be. It has spawned many videos that were put on the internet such as the Leeroy Jenkins video which has, since it was made, become a cult classic in the name of computer and video games alike. All four of us here at the team of Boya have struggled with this addicting game and although some of us don't play it anymore the other few are still kept captivated by this game. We have seen many of our friends quit for a while and then start playing again although some are strong enough to stop playing altogether. We consider World of Warcraft to be the master of all addicting games and that is why we will put it as the first pick.

Counter-Strike (CS)
Counter-Strike is one of the best first person shooters of all time. Its' realistic properties and dynamic gameplay has made it one of the most popular games in the gaming world today. You play as a terrorist trying to bomb something or to prevent the enemy, the counter-terrorists, from rescueing hostages or as a counter-terrorist trying to save hostages or prevent the enemy, the terrorists, from planting and detonating a bomb. This game is quite cheap today and is considered to be a bargain for the price that it can be bought for. This game isn't as addicting as massive multiplayer online games (MMO's) but it is still a very addicting game.

Warcraft III (WC3 ROC/TFT)
Warcraft III is a very addicting game that unfortunatly is hard to quit. The original is called Reign of Chaos( ROC) and the expansion pack is called The Frozen Throne( TFT). The gameplay is made new with new "maps" which can be customized by anyone and are left up to the imaninations of the creator of the map. It is highly addicting and is a great place to chat online with people from all over the world but this isn't always a good thing. There are so many scenerios to be played out in this game that it is impossible to list them all but in its' most basic form Warcraft III consists of heroes and non-hero "creeps" that battle each other for possible rank upgrades ingame. This game is very addicting but is extremely fun.

EverQuest (EQ)
EverQuest could be called the father of addicting games. It was the first MMORPG( Massively Multiplayer Online Role Play Game) that I had ever encountered. It is very addicting to most people who play it and has ruined many lives. It was one of the first and is still one of the best online games out there. Because of its' addicting pull it has since been named by many players as EverCrack making a pun at how the addictingness of the game is as addicting as Cocaine which is horrible if you think about. All in all, this game is very addicting and should be avoided.
