| The adder or viper has a short, thick body. Adders have a dark zigzag pattern down their back. Adders are our only native poisonous snake and will try to bite you if you capture one, but they would much rather get under cover than attack normally. Adders like to stay away from humans as much as they can an they wouldn’t try to harm you at all normally as they would rather be under cover. They feed mainly on lizards but will also eat small mammals, birds, amphibians and large slugs. | ||||||||||
