-Foeniculum vulgare Miller,foeniculum officinale.

General information:

-This is a perennial scented plant of the carrot family - umbellifarae - and it grows up to 250cm. high. It has got hairless grooved stems and compound leaves which are a green-greyish colour and triangular shaped, with numerous filiform leaflets. It has got yellow flowers which are 8cm. wide, without bracts or bracteoles. It also has an ovoid fruit. It is normally found by the side of the roads, paths, fields or near the sea.
